Yikes. I'd heard rumors, but have never seen. Going to the city is always a depressing experience for me, at least on the highways. tree-strangling bittersweet, stinking ailanthus, and the rest of their villainous cohorts.

(A nurseryman who prides himself on his love of native plants once objected to my referring to Berberis as an "evil shrub." He claimed that plants aren't inherently wicked. I've no doubt that Berberis and Lonicera are just lovely in Asia; however, if the evolutionary goal of any organism is to survive, adapt and out-compete, then I believe that I might be permitted to assign intentions to the ones that dominate the roadsides here.)

I really like the blog (and my congratulations on championing the forest tent caterpillars). 'Tis a pity that it only reaches 2007, but I'm sure that you're short on time. Thank you!
